Goals And Programs

The Iran-Greece chamber of commerce was established on May 24, 2012, with the presence of a number of reputable merchants and producers. This was solely done to strengthen economic relations in all sectors ranging from industry, commerce, mining, agriculture, and services and also to encourage bilateral exchanges and investments between the two countries. The Iran-Greece Chamber of Commerce Aims at:

• Increasing trade share of Iran and Greece in the national economy.

• Extending the society’s knowledge and awareness of the role of the Greek economy in inclusive development.

• Establishing cooperation, unity, and compliance among Iranian and Greek economic activists.

• Using and transferring scientific and practical experiences of practitioners and updating them to achieve the determined goals of development.

• Getting all members of the chamber acquainted with the opportunities and capacities for investment in Iran and encouraging them to have economic ties with Greece.

• Enabling all members to come up with solutions they need through participation in the technical commissions organized by the chamber.

• Providing all members of the chamber with high-quality training in their business-related areas.

The Outline of the Iran-Greece Chamber ofC ommerce Plans 2019/2020

  • Preparing the ground for communication of members with similar constitutions in foreign countries.
  • Increasing the chamber’s agility in replying correspondence and handling requests.
  • Establishing a suitable mechanism to increase the number of members of the chamber.
  • Tracking members’ activities to identify best practices.
  • Identifying the members’ commercial field of expertise for the development of joint business activities.
  • Understanding the needs and problems of members to suggest solutions and provide them with services.
  • Developing basic and applied topics in commercial science.
  • Using elite and competent members in the technical working groups of Iran-Greece chamber.
  • Monitoring the efficiency of the chamber.
  • Obtaining customs concessions and preferential tariffs for trades with Greece.
  • Enhancing and developing counseling services in all cities.
  • Adopting strategies to facilitate the membership of new members.

The Outline of Services and Activities

• Introducing members for obtaining visas.
• Facilitating visa issuance for Greek businessmen invited by members of the chamber.
• Providing commercial consulting services among Iranian and Greek companies.
• Providing consulting services for dispute settlement between Iranian and Greek companies.
• Holding seminars and conferences to examine economic and trade issues between the two countries.
• Arranging visits from factories and production and economic units that are active in the two countries to raise members’ awareness and establish close links with the mentioned industrial units.
• Keeping the parties informed of Iranian and Greek companies and producers
• Introducing Greek companies to Iranian counterparts and vice versa
• Co-operating with members and facilitating the process of seeking agencies, importing permitted goods, and trading non-oil exports.
• Providing tips for using the buy-back system for goods and finance and having faster access to bank credits.
• Organizing business meetings for Greek delegations with Iranian members of the chamber

the Iran-Greece Chamber of Commerce shall undertakethe following

• Close cooperation with the Iran Chamber of Commerce, the Greek Chamber of Commerce, other countries’ Joint Chambers of Commerce, and other Iranian and Greek organization and institutions following the provisions of this Statute and the corresponding regulations for the improvement of economic relations between the two countries.
• Establishing and developing a business network between the two countries’ trade activists and facilitating effective and continuous communication with the export organizations of the country in coordination with the Iran Chamber of Commerce.
• Organizing and encouraging businessmen active in the two countries to join the joint chambers of the two countries.
• Setting the scene for establishing a joint chamber in the opposite country (in the absence of a joint chamber) in coordination with the Iran Chamber of Commerce.
• Sending proposals and feedbacks and reflecting trade barriers and obstacles to the national chambers and trade officials of both countries.
• Efforts to expand communication and realization of the missions of Iranian and Greek business and industry owners in the fields of trade, industry, services, agriculture, mining, etc., in compliance with the provisions of this Statute.
• Conducting research and studies to prepare the ground for investment in industrial, commercial, mining, agriculture, and services in the two countries.
• Collecting and evaluating statistical information and other useful data on commercial, industrial, and economic issues of the two countries and the provision of such information to the members of the chamber.
• Expansion of trade and economic exchanges between the two countries.
• Designing an up-to-date website and disseminating information bulletins on the development of economic relations between Iran and Greece, containing economic laws and regulations, business opportunities in the two countries, and other topics in which both parties are commonly interested alongside the publication of magazines, books, pamphlets, and software.
• Participation in the establishment and management of exhibitions and other similar activities, within the framework of the regulations, and providing assistance to Iranian and Greek institutions, organizations and legal entities and real persons, who are interested in participating in international exhibitions held in Iran, Greece or any third country aligned with the objectives of the joint chamber.
• Holding meetings and conferences on strengthening economic relations between the two countries.
• Collaborating and knowledge-sharing with joint chambers and similar councils in the country.
• Putting efforts to resolve disputes arising from economic relations between Iranian and Greek legal entities and real persons through reconciliation and, in case of failure, encourage the parties to resolve disputes through the judiciary committees of the Iranian and Greek Chambers.
